The year 2004, which is when I travelled to Asia, marks the year I started looking at photography in a different light. A certain purpose was born as I was shooting during my travel. This purpose comprised of leaving my personal print wherever I go and documenting life in a new country that was so appealing to me and very different from what I knew, yet it felt very familiar and made so much sense. Since then, I created the habit of carrying my compact camera around with me wherever I go and shooting different scenes that appeal to me: landscapes, cityscapes, carvings on buildings, street life, nature, leaves, flowers, the sky or any detail that grabs my attention. Through the viewfinder of my camera, I gained a new method of discovering what’s around me.
